Welcome to the Official Web Site of the
Greater Enfield Landlord Association (GELA).
Established in 1994
Excerpt from The Hartford Courant. August 12, 1995, by Stephen Ohlemacher, Courant StaffWriter.
"Landlords share concern. The town’s social services director, Dorothy Allen, helped organize the group about a year ago in an effort to find another voice in discussions about the revitalization of Thompsonville. The town sent out about 100 letters asking landlords to attend the first meeting. 'We were very impressed by the landlords and their concern for Thompsonville' Allen said. 'We felt they mirrored many concerns of the town.' From 20 to 50 landlords attended the meeting. Although the meetings started as a venue to discuss the future of Thompsonville, they have expanded to include many concerns of local landlords.”
Today, The Greater Enfield Landlord Association (GELA) contributes greatly to the revitalization of the older sections of Thompsonville by renovating their properties, by being conscientious landlords, and by being better informed through membership in this organization.
Our membership reach has expanded to include all of Enfield and all of its neighboring towns. Our purpose and goals remain the same, i.e. to educate and disseminate experience and knowledge to other landlords and to better manage our properties in accordance with local, State and Federal laws, while remaining profitable.
Come Join Our Organization.
All Owners of Rental Properties are invited to become more informed landlords and to network with other landlords, to keep abreast of local and state laws, to learn the responsibilities of good landlords and tenants, and to benefit from the experience and expertise of other seasoned landlords.
Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month (except July & August).
Meetings start at 7:00 pm and include light refreshments.
